Anti-bot: votes from real players
On many vote sites, a script and a handful of proxies are all it takes to climb the ranking. On MCVoteStats, every vote goes through several checks, and bot votes don’t count. Your rank reflects your real players.
How votes are protected
Every vote has to come from the real vote page. It hands out a signed ticket, tied to your connection and good for a single vote. A script that sends votes straight to our server, without opening the page, is rejected.
Cloudflare’s anti-bot check, invisible most of the time. The token must have been issued for our site and for a vote: a token earned on another site doesn’t get through.
Per username and per connection: switching usernames doesn’t let you vote again from the same connection. A single connection can vote 60 times a day at most, across all servers.
We spot what a real player doesn’t do: voting day and night without ever sleeping, voting again to the minute as soon as the interval ends, cycling usernames from the same browser, arriving in bursts from the same proxy network. The whole series is left out of the ranking, not just the last vote.
The team watches for abnormal vote spikes and suspicious series, and can cancel a server’s votes over a period. A server that cheats can be suspended from the ranking.
Your IP address is never stored in plain text: only a fingerprint computed with a secret key is kept, then deleted after 180 days. A single anti-fraud cookie, no ads, no tracking.
A suspicious vote is never lost for the player
When a vote looks automated, it is recorded and sent to the server like any other: the player gets their reward. It just carries no weight in the ranking. Nobody gets punished by mistake, and cheaters don’t gain a single spot.
For server owners
- A competitor paying for bots won’t get ahead of you: their fake votes are left out.
- Every vote returned by the API carries the “suspect” and “counted” fields: you decide whether to reward a suspicious vote.
- The rules are the same for every server, sponsored or not.
FAQ
Can my vote be left out by mistake?
It’s rare, and it doesn’t affect you: a vote flagged as suspicious is still recorded and sent to the server, so you still get your reward. It just doesn’t count in the ranking, and the team can restore it if it was a mistake.
I play through a VPN, can I vote?
Yes. The rules stay the same: one vote every 2 h per username and per connection. What gets flagged is bursts of votes from the same network, not using a VPN.
Can a server buy votes or a better rank?
No. The ranking only depends on the month’s votes. The “Featured” slots and the banner are ad placements shown separately, marked as such, with no effect on the ranking.
Why not explain everything in detail?
The principles are public, the exact thresholds aren’t: publishing them would mean writing the manual for getting around them.
How do I report a server that cheats?
With the “Report” button on its page, or through the contact page. The team checks the server’s votes and cancels them if needed.
